In the book "Medina County Ohio Portrait and Biographical Record" is a biography of Edward G. Shelden, son of Anna (Searls) Shelden. It says: "The maternal grandfather of our subject, Isaiah Searles, was born April 7, 1759 and served in the War of 1812. He was wounded in the battle of Chippewa, Canada, September 17, 1814, taken prisoner and was carried to Montreal, where his death occurred in December, 1814. The maiden name of his wife was Anna Dean, who was born July 19, 1762 and died at Royalton, Cuyahoga County, Ohio." The information for the two Isaiahs seem to be mixed together at times.
