General

A John Carey Jr. was born in Buffalo, New York around 1884 and married a Mrs. Elizabeth Ritter of Utica, Oneida county, New York in May 1912. The marriage license lists the parents of John Jr. as John Carey born in England and Catherine Dowling born in Ireland. However, that likely is a couple who have the same names as the ancestors since John Carey and Kate (Dowling) (Grogan) Carey did not marry until 1891. A far as is known, the ancestors John and Kate only had one child, Anna Mae. · Attached (in the Images section) is a chart/diagram followed by various documents that help show how the Grogans and Kuhns and Careys are related to the Deatons. It is all through Catherine (Dowling) (Grogan) Carey who was the mother of Anna Mae (Carey) Deaton. This also helps explain how Utica (Oneida county) New York ties into the Carey-Deaton family. · · Catherine Dowling & John Carey as parents of groom John Carey (who is marrying Mrs. Elizabeth Ritter) of Buffalo, Utica, New York 1912
