1891 city directory of Memphis, Shelby county, Tennessee by Polk with three Careys -- John, Thomas and William -- as grocers on the northwest corner of Beale and Walnut Streets which it appears those three also lived there. Also listed is policeman Joseph Carey who was stated (in a newspaper article on the death of John Carey) as a brother of John Carey. [D__0428]
