The Highways Traveled

Two reasons for this trip:
1. See the Nicodemus National Historic Site park north of Hays, Kansas -- it was to be my last stop for the upcoming April trip, but, ...
2. Help put 3,000 miles on my newest leased vehicle before I leave for the upcoming April trip so I can get the first oil change and inspection done

KANSAS: One national park plus got to see Lake Wilson on the way back home

MISSED VISITING:
--Two state parks -- Webster and Glen Elder -- sky was completely overcast thus lousy photography opportunities

OBSERVATIONS: Some observations made while traveling in this area:

The Bests:

  1. Light traffic on I-70 while driving it between 4:00 am and 9:00 am
  2. New leased Sentra did well -- ended the trip with the odometer reading 1,531, halfway to my needed 3,000
  3. Nice to learn the history of the Nicodemus area, first time I have heard about any town created just for African Americans

The Worsts:

  1. Totally overcast so it was not worth trying to take nature photos -- hard to tell where the lake water ends and the sky begins

The Totals:

Just to list this as of mid-March 2023:
