A few years earlier I was on my way early one morning from Pensacola to go to Horseshoe Bend
National Battlefield -- another national park I would visit. But, a vehicle passed me that
morning in my rental car and kicked up a piece of gravel that cracked my windshield. Thus, I
spent the rest of the morning getting that repaired and had to miss Horseshoe Bend. This trip
was to get back there. Seems I have had to revisit various places around the country over the
years for various reasons. Here was another one.
The park itself was just a battlefield with little to see. But, it is my 207th national park.
Another nearby national park was one I only recently "discovered" -- Little River Canyon. It was
worth a short visit and became national park #208 for me.
