Fall colors had yet to make it into Massachusetts when I left there the first weekend of October.
I was hoping New Hampshire, further north, would have the full fall foliage colors going when I arrived.
However, for the southern half of the state, only about 15% of the trees were showing something other than
green. The northern half fared only a bit better.
In 2010 I had ridden the Tramway near Lincoln NH and knew it had a great view of the area overlooking the
trees. So I went here for my first stop of the day on the way to Quebec. Sunny day. The trees were about
a third in fall foliage colors.Few maples in the area thus the best colors were absent. By the time the
tram rode up the mountain, it was shivering cold. The windows of the tram car had frozen water drops, thus
a hinderance for getting good photographs from inside the car. I got to the top, snapped several photographs
with frozen fingers, then jumped into the tram car before it went back down. Brrr!!
