Over ten years ago I seriously considered living in this town during retirement. Cheap land.
Beautiful nature all around. Good base for visiting the northeastern U.S. and eastern Canada.
However, several factors eventually made me decide against living here. Besides sparsely
populated, thus few amenities I am used to having in a large metropolitan area, the entire
northeast has long harsh winters, LOTS of snow, muddy springs, and more cloudy days than sunny
days.
Still, good place to visit. Interesting museum on the campus of the college here. And, I can
finally say that I at least made it to this part of Maine.
