Two reasons to be in this Boston suburb. One is the national park site that is the
house that President Kennedy lived in. It is called his "birthplace". The other is
the home that Frederick Law Olmstead lived in during the late 1800's. I knew little
about this gentleman. However, this landscape architectural firm is responsible for
countless projects around the country including New York City's Central Park.
The park ranger asks each visitor where they are from. Then they open up this large book
that lists all of the places that Olmstead and his firm designed in the home area of
the visitors. Quite impressive!
Oh. One other reason to be in Brookline -- it has a Trader Joe's and that is the chain
store where I get the dark chocolate that I eat most every day!!!
