Maryland is a small state that has an unusual shape that causes it to be spread across a wide area, geographically, yet is rather short north-south-wise. Twice in the past, including last year, I have tried to photograph the Maryland state capitol building. I did photograph in during my first visit several years ago. But it was raining at the time so the phjotograph is less than desirable. I originally planned to photograph it plus the sign at the nearby U.S. Naval Academy, (the sign is within a few blocks of the capitol. So attempt number three made). However, I postponed these stops until a trip four months later. Just as well since it was raining when I was in the area for this trip.

Several college campuses to visit in the state, all but one of them being in the Baltimore area. The other in Emmitsburg.
