I mainly came to Seattle for three reasons. One, to photograph the campus "W" of the University
of Washington (the campus does not have a real sign as per someone at the college that I contacted).
Two, visit a national park site called Klondike Gold - Seattle (there also is a Klondike Gold - Alaska
that is north of Juneau on an island, both were part of outfitting those going to Alaska for the gold rush).
And, most importantly, three, visit my two wonderful friends, Jan and Lisa. I introduced those two to each
other during my last visit to Seattle and we all visited Olympic National Park and hiked in the rain forest
there. This time, I visited them separately but spent all but one day with Jan whom I say is the Best
Friend I have ever had. We met 12 in 2005 and rather quickly became close friends and then even more than
that. We did so many different things together when she lived in KC. And we done some adventures each time
I have visited her in Seattle.
However, Seattle has too little infrastructure to handle too many people. Very difficult to get around town,
especially when an accident happens on I-5, the only interstate in the area. And I was unable to find an
open parking space anywhere near the Klondike Gold Rush national park facility.
Stopped here mainly to photograph the campus signs for the University of Central Washington
Stopped here mainly to photograph the campus signs for the University of Eastern Washington
Photographed the campus signs of Gonzaga University. I flew in and out of Spokane several
years ago and spent my last trip night in town. I was somewhat impressed with the city.
In the last 1980's and early 1990's I worked for a company that had a branch office in
Spokane. I got to speak with that office staff a few times over the years. They often
complained about the weather in Spokane -- it gets what comes across mountains -- towns
on the east side of mountains and large lakes get dumped on by big snows. Just southeast of
Spokane is the town of Cheney which has Eastern Washington University so I stopped there too.
Visited here to photograph the campus signs of Washington State University. First time to this town.
