This was my first stop for this trip. I was here to photograph the campus sign for
Fort Hay State University. Photographing this sign meant I had completed photographing
the signs of all four-year colleges in my resident state. Most are small colleges that
few outside of the area have heard of but I thought it important to photograph them.
I have long liked the city of Boulder, despite my calling it the city of traffic lights.
I woke up here on my 30th birthday. And of course the funny Mork and Mindy TV show was
supposed to be in this town. This time I was in town to photograph the campus signs for
the University of Colorado.
After over three decades since my last visit here, the city has imcreased on its reputation
of traffic lights. Tough to quickly get anywhere in this town. However, I also still like
the "feel" of the town. In fact, the only one I like better is Princeton NJ.
This town was a bit off my route but I used to work with someone who went to college here
at the University of Northern Colorado. I photographed the campus sign.
I did not care for this town and was glad when it was time to leave.
I came here only to photograph the campus sign of Colorado State University.
Well, I take that back, On campus is a street sign pole with the name of the two
streets there. In this case, it is College and University -- the PERFECT sign for
a college. There are several other college campuses around the country where
College and University streets meet (two very popular names that almost EVERY
campus has at least one of them as a street name, if not both). However, they
put the street names up on the street light arms, thus, the two cannot be gotten
in a single photo.
