I have been to Annapolis twice before and those two visits are etched in my mind. The first one was many years
earlier. It was beautiful sunny Mother's Day and all of the cadets were dressed up in their best. Their mothers
were also of course dressed up and each were wearing a red rose, presumably from their cadet child.
The second time I was here just a few years earlier to photograph the state capitol building. It was pouring
down raining then so the photo I got then was less than desirable.
This time I arrived for two reasons. One, to re-photograph the state capitol. Two, the city is on my large list
of possible places to retire to. However, on the day I was to visit Annapolis, there was a very hard rain downpour
that was expected to last for two days. Oh for two here with the state capitol on a sunny day (or at least not
raining). I have noticed that everytime I visit the mid-Atlantic coastal states, it is, minimally, cloudy, and,
at worst, raining hard.
