I knew very little about George Washington Carver. I knew he was an African American that had something to do with either biology or botony and that he was associated with Tuskegee College in Atlanta. At this memorial in his honor I learned quite a bit more. I wondered why Missouri had his memorial and learned that he was born near where the memorial now is which is a couple of miles south of Diamond MO.
