I wanted to see Fort Ticonderoga. It was famous from the Revolutionary War. However, like so many places in New York State this week, it is closed and only open during summer.

There should be signs at the state borders that says "New York is closed for the [six-month long] winter. Please come back anytime in late May until mid October".
