This is a small town of less than 500 people. No real businesses here, people must go to nearby towns for things such as groceries and hardware and office supplies and entertainment facilities. There is a small town hall (but no mayor or city council) and a volunteer fire department. No police department, the county sheriff handles the town law enforcement. No schools, the town is part of a consolidated school district with several other nearby towns.

Cathy and I were here for her high school reunion. Her family still owns two houses here plus another lot on the hill where a house once stood. The cemetery has her father and her grandparents and her great grandparents buried there.
