I have long wanted to visit Jacksonville. In terms of square miles, it is the largest city of the 48 states. Four cities in Alaska are larger. Also, a friend and former co-worker now lives here. When she left our mutual company, I promised that I would visit in the next 18 months. March 2014 was my last chance to keep that promise.

I really did not see much of Jacksonville itself. My friend and I went a bit south to see St. Augustine.
