Bozeman is on I-90 about equal distance from both the east and west borders of the state. It is
also due north of Yellowstone National Park. The town is surrounded by those tall yet mostly barren
mountains. It was another warm sunny day today. The large fluffy white clouds over the mountains
made for some good views.
Bozeman has most every major chain store and many of the medium-sized chain stores too. My hotel
is next door to Costco and right across the street from Target, Petsmart,
Borders, Michaels, Bed Bath and Beyond, and more. I saw Lowes, Office Depot and Staples.
Many of the streets are getting an overhaul of surface. Their main streets are eight lanes wide.
Bozeman has Montana State University, home of The Bobcats. I drove through the campus and took some photos.
The campus is very low-key and spread out in an eight by six block area. Some new buildings are being built.
The students were out enjoying the outdoors and the weather. They know it will soon end. On the drive here,
I kept noticing the special areas on the sides of the highway for adding and removing tire chains.
