Greenville (pop. 1,350) is a typical tourist town that could be seen in any state. This town is on a huge lake. It gave the impression that this town is on an ocean rather than a lake. Boating is a major activity, during the summer season.
The town has a number of shops along its main busines section. It also has a four-star rated hotel but we could not find it. Like so many other things in upper Maine, it was probably still closed for the winter. Most businesses are open only from May to September, usually only Memorial Day to Labor Day.
We drove to Greenville from the town of Rockwood. Rockwood is north of Greenville highway 6/15. Rockwood seemed like a dumpy town. On the other hand, Greenville was quite nice. Larry bought a baseball style cap that said "Greenville, Maine" on it. The cap was green, of course.
