Downtown San Francisco surprised me. Since the city is so compact, it is easy to walk much of
the downtown area. A street map certainly helped though. Despite it being a weekend day when
normal office-type businesses are closed, the sidewalks were shoulder-to-shoulder crowded.
We somehow found a place to park. Parking garage costs are mind-boggling. No wonder people make
big bucks in salary there -- they have to in order to afford parking, and housing.
I like San Francisco and could see spending more time there someday. On this trip I feel I got
to know the city a bit.
