Page 472 of the book 'History of Morgan County Ohio' (1886 by Charles Robertson) tells about the Matthew Wilson of that county. This Matthew was born and raised in Pennsylvania and served in the Revolutionary War. He also was an Indian scout as well as a postal carrier between Pittsburgh and Erie in Pennsylvania. In 1822 he moved in Bristol, Morgan county, Ohio and died there in 1844. Unknown where he was buried. On familysearch.org one researcher has combined the family of this Matthew Wilson with the ancestral Mathew Wilson of Muskingum county, the county immediately to the north of Morgan county. [0754]
