I have long heard about this place but I had not been close enough to visit it before. I made sure I got to it this trip. It is national park site #120 for me.

Given my lack of enthusiasm for going into caves and caverns, I was uncertain how much of this park I would really see. I got there a bit after sunrise and drove all the way to the visitor center near the pathways to the caves. It was closed, of course. But an incredible view from up there overlooking the valley below. One person, a hiker, was already up there when I arrived.

A gathering of deer having breakfast greeted me on the side of the road during my ascent. As soon as I realized they were there, I backed up to get photos. They decided to move further away from me at that point. I did manage to zoom in on a few of them.
