Since I was already heading to Florida, I decided to fly into Atlanta and visit three of the sixteen cities that are on my list of possile retirement places. Chattanooga is one as are nearby Georgia towns of Rome and Athens. They are middle tier choices of the sixteen but have to check them out anyway because one never knows. I studied the town ahead of time to determine what places I wanted to be sure to visit/see. And I threw in nearby Lookout Mountain just for the scenery, hoping for a sunny day while up there.

I like Chattanooga. It does not feel crowded or overrun by traffic. Mountains all around and they are covered with green trees. The streets run crazily everywhere, never just like a grid, because of how the river runs through the town. But it is quick to get most anywhere in town. There are many parts of the town that look quite old, like very small homes in the early to mid 1900's.
