Since I was already heading to Florida, I decided to fly into Atlanta and visit the home here of President Jimmy Carter. Plains often was mentioned in the news while he was President. He is now in his 90's and still staying somewhat active.

Once I got there, President Carter's name was in many places. However, the actual building that I thought was his home is not really a home. Elsewhere in town I saw the railroad depot was called his "campaign headquarters". I saw the Billy Carter (his brother) service station. And there was a large facility that had their mother Lillian's name. I believe it is a cancer center.

Anyway, glad I arrived early before their 9:00 am opening. The town was pretty much closed before then, including the visitor's center. I left town since I had a long day of driving -- to Orlando FL.
