This was a good place to get a view of the tall and skinny Lake Champlain. The lake looked pretty good under the morning sun (which was the first sunshine I had really seen all week in New York state). Someday a fun trip would me to drive around the entire perimeter of the lake. During this day I covered about a fourth of it, what would be the southwest quadrant, that runs between Lake Champlain and Lake George.

I stopped a couple of locals who had just walked out of a breakfast diner to ask where their local waterfall is located. The old-timer, (he had to have been well over 70, looked like he had had a hard working life, and had just one tooth) gave me directions but kept correcting himself so I first tried the one street he said then the other. Plus his distance was a bit short too. When I was close to the waterfall (but did not know that at the time) I stopped to ask another person I saw and he correctly pointed me to exactly where the falls were located.\
