I was in this area hoping to see some fancy looking homes along the Hudson and maybe some pretty scenery. Plus, I recall from looooonnnng ago some commercial (forgotten what product) of some sales guy who either was from Poughkeepsie or heading there. He had to run off because he had to "fetch a train". Yeah, I know, silly reason.

Poughkeepsie has two bridges across the Hudson River. One is a toll bridge ($1.50 either way). The other is only for walkers. It is an old railroad bridge converted for pedistrians. When it opened in 2009, it because the world's longest bridge for pedistrians.
