First time to visit Carson City. I wanted to photograph the state capitol building. It was state #26 of 50. I was very close to this city in 1997 when I visited Reno and Virginia City. Since no travel log was kept for that trip, it is possible that I actually went through this town on the way to/from Virginia City. Anyway, I made it this time. However, nothing looked familiar this time. Small capital city and, per the trivia question, is one of only five state capitals that is NOT on an interstate (along with Delaware, Maryland, Missouri and South Dakota).

Unknown what causes it but the outdoor air of Carson City smelled really good. A sweet smell.

Oh, while driving from Winnemucca, NV to Boise, ID I went through some desolate areas. Often there were huge mostly flat valley areas where one could see for miles before the mountains blocked the view. As I kept going further north, more big fluffy clouds were forming. And on those huge flat valleys, ahead I could see the entire shadow of some clouds. Certainly cannot do that in KC area.
