MILFORD: Booking the hotel here was a mistake for several reasons. I booked the hotel months in advance and they required that I pay for it at booking, which I did. Otherwise, I would have gone closer to New York City and Manhattan Island (the adventure of the next day). The hotel was nice enough, just noisy being next to both the elevator and ice machine room. Fortunately, since the room was a suite, sleeping was well away from the door where the noise came through.

SILVER SAND STATE PARK: This was worth a visit. I had read that there is a rock/sand bar just above sea level that allows a person to walk the half a mile across the ocean to the Charles Island (very small primitive island). However, either the high tide and/or rising sea levels had most of it under water. So it was only good for less than a hundred yards. But it was a real sand beach with numerous sun worshippers (never could figure out the appeal of that -- lying there doing nothing but getting baked -- boring).
