TOWN OF MILLINOCKET: Millinocket (pop. 5,200) is about 25 miles south southeast of Baxter State Park in north central Maine. Millinocket is just a few miles west of I-95 on highway 157.

The hotel (America's Best Inn) had cable television. One of the channels was from Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was interesting to watch a standard newscast that came from Canada.

Millinocket is a nice looking, well kept small town. It is one of the towns/areas that Sherry and Larry think might be where they want to live in retirement.

DRIVE TO BANGOR: The drive the next day east and south out of Millinocket to Bangor was quite different than what we saw the day before. We drove on highways 116 and 2. Along that route the land was more cleared, less trees. It was basically a 75 mile row of houses or trailer homes, each on several acres. Unattractive. Definitely not a part of Maine we want to live in.

TOWN OF LINCOLN: We were surprised by the size of the town of Lincoln (pop. 3,000) given its population. It is at the intersection of highways 6, 2 and 116 and is at exit 227 of I-95. Lots of active businesses in the town.
