Highway 550 is a north-south highway in the western third of Colorado. The town of Ouray, CO is about 70 miles north of Durango, CO (which is in the southwest corner of the state) on highway 550. The town sits between many mountains. It has a year-round outdoor public swimming pool that is fed by a natural spring of warm water.
