Marriage license dated Oct.28, 1886 and notation of marriage for the same day in Greene county Ohio of Alice Melvin and Robert Crane Burns. It was officiated by Methodist minister Albert N. Spahr [probably the same one who assisted with the 1890 funeral of Thomas Melvin, father of Alice, the Rev. Spahr died in May 1911] and attested by probate judge J. H. Cooper. Unfortunately, the license does not state the residence of the couple but Robert was born in Ontario (per Canadian censuses of 1891, 1901 and 1911) and this couple will eventually live in Ontario.
