Notation in the DAR Lineage Book of Charter Members volume 47 of the military service of Josiah Dean during the Revolutionary War. He was a private in Lt. Daniel Clark's company, 21st regiment in the New York campaign. He also was in the Valley Forge encampment. He was born in Plainfield, Windham county, Connecticut and died in the same county. This person, the one who married Tracy Meriam in Plainfield, is a different person from the ancestral Josiah Dean. [M__0156]
