A court notice appearing on page 3 of the Vermont Phoenix newspaper dated Dec.10, 1847 notes that the court has granted Eli Miller permission to notify, for three weeks in the newspaper, all interested parties of the sale of the estate of his late father, Thaddeus Miller. The noticed said that Eli was the guardian of Thaddeus, an insane person.
