In 1895 a Frank Ellis, legal guardian of Rosa May Buhr, the orphaned child of William D. Buhr and his second wife Nora Danley, formally requested a Civil War pension per the service of William. William had been a member of Company I of the 80th Illinois Infantry. William died one month before Rosa was born and Nora died about a few months after Nora was born. [D__0386]
