Research

Recording of the marriage intentions on May 07, 1763 for David Moore of Bolton and Betty Whitcomb of Lancaster, both towns being in Worcester county Massachusetts. The marriage intentions of five others of the Moore family, the grooms all residents of Lancaster, are also listed on this page. There appears to have been at least three girls named Betty/Elizabeth Whitcomb born between April and September 1743/44. One was born in Lancaster to Hezekiah and Rachel Whitcomb and married David Moore in 1763 in Lancaster (the marrige entry says she is from Lancaster whereas he is from Bolton). Another was born in Bolton to David Whitcomb and Elizabeth Betty White and married Abel Moore in Bolton in 1764. A third one was also born in Bolton to Israel Whitcomb and Azubah Houghton and married Jeams Flood in Bolton in 1764. The first one, daughter of David and Rachel, is believed to be the ancestor here.
Also see the Abel Moore, son of Joshua Moore and Elizabeth Sawyer, he also married a Betty Whitcomb on the same day and had the same children. Also see Betty Whitcomb, daughter of Israel Whitcomb and Azibah Houghton.
