Burial: 1887-02, Age:42y9m26d, ?Springfield, Greene county, Missouri, A staff member of the genealogy and local history department of the Springfield Library spent over an hour on April 12, 2024 researching all known reference materials at the library and was unable to find where William Buhr is buried. At that same time I checked with the Greene county archives for any probate for William but they reported that William does not appear in either of their indexes, both online and in the books. There is a November 15, 1895 filing by Alfred Donley (the father-in-law of William Buhr from his second marriage), see image # D__0387 for a military pension for the orphaned daughter of William. In Alfred's affidavit he states that his daughter, Nora, the second wife of William Buhr were buried side by side. However, beyond stating it was in Greene county, no mention is made for where the burials took place. Neither Nora nor William appear in FindAGrave.com. It is possible that Nora and William are buried on the farm of Alfred Donley (location unknown), or, were buried in unmarked graves. Since William Buhr was a Civil War veteran, it would have been possible for him to be buried in the national cemetery in Springfield but the library staff member said he was unable to find William buried there.
