Death: 1893-06-14, Age:22y9m26d, Springfield, Greene county, Missouri, She died a year and a day after giving birth to her second child. It is a mystery how Addie and Robert were married in 1887 in Springfield, had two children -- 1889 and 1892 -- one born in Memphis and possibly the other in northeastern Mississippi, then she was buried in Springfield in 1893 after dying in either Memphis or Springfield. Missouri started recording deaths in 1910. There was a brief period before that when counties could optionally record births and deaths. Ancestry.com family for Adeline 'Addie' (Buhr) Deaton, it does list her two sons with the second one being born in Mississippi. Ancestry.com family for Adeline 'Addie' (Buhr) Deaton, it does not list her two children. Ancestry.com family of William D. (or Dieterich Wilhelm) Buhr. He and his family went from Washington county Illinois to Pike county Arkansas to Greene county Missouri where he died before his 43rd birthday. He was first married to Martha Ragland (the ancestor) then to Nora T. Danley and had children with both wives. His ancestral child was Adeline Buhr who married Robert Deaton.
For about 40 years this author was led by family members to believe that her last name was BUIE and that she likely came to the U.S. from the Netherlands. However, after encountering the newspaper article of her wedding in Springfield, that lead to new research and the discovery that her last name is BUHR. There is much information about that family line. The Greene County office reports that no death certificates before 1910 are on file.
